Happy New Year, Readers! There are new banners on the homepage. One of my favorite ones is the black one that shows our logo and URL levitating out of a hole in black blocks. There’s also one that explains that when you’re our client, you don’t have to worry about anything technical. We take care of it all. In addition to that, we have one that explains that we care. We want your brand to be enhanced through your website. We also have one that says, “Simple yet exclusive. It’s what we aim for.” In rotation right now, we also have a banner with a testimonial from Magnolia RV Parks.

There are a few new changes to the blog. Our blog was originally installed by Fantastico. I kept getting notifications that there was a new version of WordPress available. Every time I tried to update it, it wouldn’t let me. I had to rip everything else and put it back, pretty much. I manually installed our blog, and we’re running the latest version now. The colors on our theme also match the website now and we have a new bookmarking plugin. I highly recommend WordPress to all the bloggers out there. It’s what we install on all client blogs, and they’re all very happy with their blogs.

First of all, I’d like to address that we no longer are offering SMS alerts for our blog. It’s due to our provider, Pingie, shutting themselves down. We appoligize for any inconvience that this may cause. They claim to be working on relaunching. I would like to encourage you to visit our mobile website at m.hinctechal.com, though! If your device has mobile internet, it is the best way to experince our website on the go!

As a side note, the search engine by Google now matches our websites’ color coding. Just wanted to point that out.

Finally, I’d like to wish all of the site visitors a HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON! It’s currently snowing on the homepage! We also have a banner in rotation that wishes you Happy Holidays. The holiday banner is programmed to rotate more than the other ones so that visitors see it more often. The Sitepal on the side of the homepage also has new (winter) clothes. I wanted to share the website Make-A-Flake. You can cut out your own snowflake and share it with friends, and it’s extremely popular during the holidays.

I’m happy to announce two new websites coming soon to our portfolio! Soon, we’ll have the best website for coupons in the East Mississippi area and we’re also working on a website for B103 in Meridian! Watch for these websites coming soon!

Also, please remember to GET OUR TOOLBAR! It’s now compatible with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and also Safari! For those of you that prefer not to download our toolbar, it’s ok. You can add our button to your Google toolbar.

In addition to that, our search engine has been finely tuned. We have made the results more relevant to what you’re looking for once again.

Also, I’ve been meaning to tell everyone about this for a while now, the Livio Radio is great! If you don’t have one, I believe it’s the best Internet radio you can get your hands on! I am able to listen to radio stations from around the world as well as jam out to my Pandora. It’s even got the “thumb-up” and “thumb-down” buttons!

I just got done installing a brand new comment system by Disqus. After seeing it on several of the blogs that I visit, I realized that it’s important to have it on mine. With the ability to connect with FaceBook, Twitter, OpenID, Seesmic, and many more, I’m hoping more of you will be willing to comment. This is the best site to upload your files that you will ever find! I found it and had to share it with you. Ever needed to upload a file so that you could use it anywhere and share it with friends? Okay, so I just “improved” the clients area a week or so ago. Being a little bit lazy (yes, I’ll admit it), I embedded a Bravenet login box for our client’s area. Well, all of the sudden Bravenet decided they wanted to stick a nice big banner ad at the bottom of our clients area. I said “forget that”, and I made a new login system. All of the logins have been moved over, so try it out and let me know how I can make it better!

We’re back! I was trying to upgrade to WP 2.8 and it erased my whole blog! We’re back, with the improvement that everything is at blog.hinctechal.com. Don’t worry, everything will get redirected automatically to where it needs to be!

Big thank yous go to Fantastico and Wordpress for making the re-install effortless. Fantastico has been a great feature for one-click installation of complex scripts and Wordpress is the priceless blogging platform I’ve used and loved for so long!

Hats off to these people. Also, please notice a few other new things:

1. Going to hinctechal.com/chat will allow you to launch chat and send you back to where you came from.

2. There’s a SitePal on the homepage that’s supposed to look like me and talks like me.

3. You can see our latest Twitter updates on the sidebar of the blog homepage.
